The first of many funky things to come

I should have blogged about my hair adventures years ago. Funny that I should start now.  But I guess it's a nice time to share, since it's now been 5 years since I first bleached and colored my first streak. ^_^

I think I've come a long way in hair coloring. From a single colored streak...

to streaks of a few more colors...

until finally the whole head!

Obviously I'm partial violet or blue-purple, hahaha! ^_^

Got quite a few colors on my mind to try. In fact, I'm thinking of having my hair bleached next week so I can try a new color palette. Wish me luck!

Also thinking of sharing a few things I learned as well as my personal reviews on some products I used during my hair coloring adventures. So keep posted for more!

Cheers,
~ Jane ^_^

Hi! I've been frequently visiting this page since the start of this year due to overexcitement (i plan to dye my hair by december). The only reason why i'll have it on december is because I still have to grow out my hair. I just wanted to ask about your opinion on which of the semi-permanent hairdyes work best for you? :) I want the one with the most minimal bleeding and/or the one that doesn't wash off as easily as others. :) Thank you! Looking forward to purchasing from you this december :)

Hi @Senseii! Glad you dropped by! ^_^ I think Special Effects is still the best brand of semi-permanent dyes in terms of color last and color intensity. It can last 2-3 months with little bleeding, and their range of colors is pretty decent. Though supply can be pretty inconsistent, so Adore and Punky are other brands you can consider. They last a little more than a month and does not bleed as much. Hope to hear from you again soon!

Hi! it's me again. I just wanted to ask whether these dyes take long to expire or whether there is a need to purchase them only immediately before you want to apply them? I want to order this sembreak (last week of october) due to availability of funds, but I don't plan to apply it til late december. Is that okay or will the dyes be of no use anymore due to expiry? :)

hi! what color did you use to get that shade of blue? (bottom left pic-mirror selfie) i was just wondering because some blue dyes tend to turn out green-ish over bleached hair.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I used Manic Panic Lavender Blue in that picture. However, this is a limited edition color and we no longer have stock of it. :( I suggest picking blue colors with violet tones (like Special Effects Blue Mayhem) instead of pure blue colors to avoid the greenish result, especially when your base hair color contains brassy shades. :)

I've been searching for AMMONIA FREE, PPD FREE, PEROXIDE FREE hair dyes. Most of it are available outside the country. Luckily, I saw ur site. My main concern is if ur hair dyes are truly ORGANIC. I ve tested permanent hair dyes and I always end up having allergies. Can you tell me more about your product. Please. I would love to try it.. I hope it won't cause me any rashes or so. Thanks!

Hi! We have those kind of dyes, but they glow under UV light or black light. Some colors like yellow, pink, red, and green are formulated to give that effect. Please email me at funkystreaks@gmail.com to let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks! :)
