It started with a streak of color.

It started in 2009 when I got the bug to put a single bold dash of color in my hair. I knew I wanted blue hair for a long time, but because I was freelancing at the time and I saved enough cash, I thought then was the time to make it happen. 

So I went to several salons in the Metro asking if they could color my hair blue, but all I got was bewildered stares, like I grew horns or something. Only one salon said yes, but the whole process costs P3,000.00 (probably equivalent to P6,000.00 now in 2012) and the color won't be permanent. My goodness! P3,000 for 3 weeks of blue bliss? No way! That's when I decided to bring in my own batch of funky hair colors. But I kind of got too excited and bought a whole lot of hair dyes to save on shipping. A whole LOT of hair dyes. More than I can consume in a year, actually. 

And Funky Streaks was born -- to share my passion as well as the fun and excitement of funky hair colors in the Philippines! 

It is my hope that everyone will love funky hair colors as much as I do. And I do want to help others achieve their dreams of awesome hair, be it in red, blue, green, purple, pink, white, or a mix of whatever color.
